Employment Law Solicitors on the Isle of Wight

Our employment law team advises employers and employees on all aspects of employment law.

Employment law is politically driven and fluid; therefore, keeping up to date can be a challenge for HR directors/employers. We make it easy by providing regular updates to our clients when the law changes, and auditing employment contracts and other documentation upon request to ensure they are compliant with the latest legislation.

A full employment service

The Glanvilles Damant employment law team provides expert legal advice and guidance on all areas of employment law, including:

  • Employment contracts and staff handbooks
  • Settlement agreements
  • Equality Act 2010 matters
  • Discipline and grievance matters
  • Unfair and constructive dismissal
  • Redundancy
  • Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations 2006 (TUPE)

Health and Safety

Health and safety matters are a regulatory minefield for employers, especially those operating in sectors such as construction, engineering and manufacturing. The Health and Safety Offences, Corporate Manslaughter and Food Safety and Hygiene Offences Definitive Guidelines, which came into force in February 2016 provide that fines for health and safety breaches may be linked to an organisation’s turnover.  This can result in crippling financial penalties for companies who breach health and safety rules and that breach results in an injury or death.

Glanvilles Damant solicitors can provide expert advice and guidance on health and safety law matters, keeping you up to date with any changes in the law you need to be aware of.

Employee grievances

We advise employers and employees on grievance matters, working with both parties to resolve the dispute before it reaches the Employment Tribunal.  When it comes to employment disputes, prevention is better than the cure; therefore, we draft fair, robust employment contracts and staff handbooks, and advise HR directors/employers throughout disciplinary proceedings to ensure full compliance with ACAS recommendations and employment legislation are complied with.
